William Frank Loron Orris

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Loron Orris at the St Boniface hospital. Loron was born on May 15, 1955 to Ada and Lloyd Orris. He will be dearly missed by his wife Cynthia of 45 years, son Andrew (Natasha), daughter Ashley (David “Harvey”), and grandchildren Willow and Grady. He also leaves to mourn his brother Glen (Susan) and sisters Bernice, Nancy, Lynda (Andy), Judi (Milton) as well as many extended family members and friends.

Loron was predeceased by his parents, sister Guay, brother Kim, niece Jane and grandson Dillon.

Loron grew up in River Heights and graduated from Kelvin High School, where he was very involved in sports. He was the star quarterback, M.V.P. basketball player and ultimately named the Athlete of the Year.

Loron went on to attend the University of Manitoba in the Arts program, until he was called upon to help in the family Printing business. He worked alongside his brother Kim and his sister Nancy at Coronet, Coronet Fahlke Printers and later Transcontinental until his retirement.

Some of Loron’s fondest memories were created during summers spent at his family cottage at Loni Beach in Gimli and later at Cynthia’s family cottage at Falcon Lake. These special places brought him many years of happiness, laughter and cherished memories with family and friends.

Over the last three years Loron courageously and gracefully battled three different cancers. In February Loron was diagnosed with MDS or pre leukemia and congestive heart failure. He spent the time he had doing what he loved most…enjoying his family and watching his grandchildren grow. Loron’s greatest accomplishment was his family and he loved them more than anything else in the world.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Ajao, Dr. Paul, Dr. Pareek, Dr. Minuk, Dr. Marzban and Dr. Van de Velde as well as all the amazing nurses at Cancer Care for their compassionate care and support,

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Fort Whyte Alive, Buffalo Crossing 2505 McGillivray Blvd. September 1st, 2026 at 2:00pm.
