Yash Varma

It is with inconceivable sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful Yash Varma on March 12th, 2023.

Though his time on this earth was limited to 16 years, his impact on every life he touched was limitless. His gentle spirit filled everyone he met with love and joy. His laughter and humour were infectious, particularly when it came to his clever jokes. His selfless nature was exemplified by his willingness and desire to help his family, friends, and classmates. Yash’s passion for life was made obvious through everything he did. His sweet nature was only rivaled by his ferocious intellect and his insatiable desire to learn and explore. Yash took great joy in sharing his wisdom and knowledge with those around him, which we truly believe made this world a better place.

Yash was the adored son of Rajan and Neeti Varma, beloved little brother of Vaibhav, cherished grandson of Dhanesh and Padmini Varma, and precious grandson of Dinu and Hansa Tailor.

Yash was born on October 26th, 2006, in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the Health Sciences Centre. In his elementary years, he attended both St. Emile School and St. Maurice School. Yash later attended St. Paul’s High School. His love for this school and his community was well known. At St. Paul’s Yash excelled academically and his interests flourished. He was heavily involved in the Photography Club, the Dramatic Society, Youth in Philanthropy, Human Rights Initiative, Reach for the Top, and the Crusader Newspaper.

Yash was a good friend to all he knew. He was known as a helper, always willing to support and teach those around him.

Yash loved the bond he shared with family. He was fond of engaging in deep discussion. He and his Mom especially enjoyed eating out in each other’s company. He enjoyed catching up with his Dad on the morning drive to school. With his big brother Vaibhav, he would look forward to watching the latest episode of Star Wars every week.

Yash had a passion for puzzles, and his articulate skill with the Rubik’s cube was unparalleled. He had played the piano from the age of four, but his mastery of the art accelerated magnificently over the last two years.

Yash will be missed more than words can ever convey. Yash is now absent from our lives but will forever be etched in our hearts.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Thomson “In The Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
