We are profoundly saddened by the loss of Mrs. Lam, a very devoted and capable wife, mother and grandmother.  It is very difficult to part with a wonderful lady like her.  We are very privileged and honoured to know her for more than 30 years. 

When we firstly met, I was gravitated towards her beautiful smile and Mabel was a little bit shy and reserved.  I strongly believed fate brought us together to form the friendship thrived beyond ordinary.  We got together when the timing was right and missed each other when we were not.  Mrs. Lam gave me a lot of advice and tips for child rearing which I couldn’t thank her enough.  She told me to give my daughter a lot of TLC (tender loving care) and one day she could become a successful and exemplary leader.  Her wisdom and traditional way of raising family is flawless and truly amazing.  Mrs. Lam, I will continue preaching your philosophy to other families so that they would benefit the same way as I did. 

Let’s celebrate her life by remembering the way she lived and good times we had. Mabel and the Lam family, we are so sorry and please accept our heartfelt condolences.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of dear Mrs. Lam. While living in Hong Kong at Nga Tsin Wei Road, we resided one floor above the Lam’s family.  Mrs. Lam would come up often to chat with our late mother, sharing adult secrets. So many memories to treasure.
I remember my last telephone conversation with Mrs. Lam which was a few years back, she was high spirited and joyous.  
It was many years ago when I last saw Mrs. Lam in person, but I smile every time I see her pictures that Mabel sent to me periodically over the last few years.  

From the Mak’s to the Lam’s, we send our deepest condolences. May Mrs. Lam rest in peace.

It is with a very heavy heart and deep sorrow when I learn about Mrs. Lam's passing. I can venture to say that besides Andrew, Ah Tim and Mabel, I am the only one nowadays who know Mrs. Lam the longest. My younger brother Leo (who just left us July for a better place above) and I with our Mother arrived into Hong Kong in 1953 to join our father. Since our temporary residence was just a large shack with corrugated asbestos sheet roof.  During taiphoon  seasons (tropical wind storm) Father was afraid that our shack would not hold up under the strong wind. He shipped us to Mr and Mrs. Lam's residence to shelter his two young school age boys. Mr. Lam and Father worked in the same Tien-Chu Chemical plan and they were the best of friends. That was the first time I met Mrs. Lam, a refined and most fashionable and extremely exquisite young lady in her early 20's. At that time, Mabel was not even a toddler as yet. Leo and I made friends with Andrew & Ah Tim (Ah Sam was not born yet) and we used to play quite many summers when we moved into the second floor of the same Company residence for employees.  Later, the Company built a brand new employees' residence just behind La Salle College on 162 Nga Tsin Wei Road.  The Lams were on the top floor of  the middle unit and we were on the top floor of the next unit.  Through our kitchen windows the two family children could communicate effectively. Mrs. Lam used to visit Mom quite often as mothers at that  era did not work outside the house. I loved to eardrop on some of the juicy gossips. Our family moved to Montreal and the Lams moved to Winnipeg after Mr. Lam passed away. Mabel and Mrs. Lam visited us in the late 1970's . That was the last time I saw her in person. Deep inside my heart, I shall always treasure the memory of her as a gentle and very kind person. She will be dearly missed. On behalf of the Mok family, I send you and yours our deepest condolences. Hope you all be spared of further sorrow for a long time.
