She was born November 2, 1944 in Salina, Kansas to the late Archie Leroy and Wanda Mae Matlock. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Will Davis Stowe, and her brother, Stephen Ray Matlock.
Barbara enjoyed going to church and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Phillip Gardner & Donna Stowe; daughters, Barbara Christina Doub (husband Gary) and Yvonne Viola Hatcher (husband Martenis); grandchildren, Phillip Dale, Michael Wayne, Hucie Mae, Alicia Nicole, Christopher Ryan, Chasity Brooke, Kimberly Dawn, and Kevin Lane; 19 great-grandchildren; and her brother, S. Leroy Matlock (wife Becky).
A funeral service will be held Friday, July 5th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Vogler Funeral and Cremations @ Forsyth Memorial Park, 3815 Yadkinville Road, Winston-Salem, NC, with visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow immediately after the service in Forsyth Memorial Park.
