Born on June 19, 1969 in Staten Island, New York, Christine spent 22 years in her home state before moving to North Carolina with her firstborn son to stay close to her family. In her young adulthood, she created beautiful landscape paintings reminiscent of Bob Ross’ works, though her painting was infrequent due to the demands of raising three children. Her wit was unmatched, and she was the family Scrabble champion. Her personality was as bold as the coffee she drank, and she could always find the humor in irony and sarcasm.
She built a life anchored around her three beloved children, who were her biggest pride and her sense of purpose. She poured every ounce of her soul into raising her two sons and daughter, and made sure that above all, her children knew how much they were loved. She prided herself in having a nature that drew babies and children to her, and if there was ever a baby in the same room as her, Christine was going to ask to hold them. She simply exuded warmth and a maternal presence. This was reflected in her role as a preschool teacher assistant in the 90s. Alongside her children, she cared for many beloved cats throughout the years, notably Moose, Katrina, and O’hai, though all were cherished deeply.
As a lifelong Catholic, she spoke often of reuniting with her mother Andrea “Onnie” in Heaven. She looked forward to reuniting with all of her loved ones in the presence of the Lord, where her earthly ailment cannot limit her any longer. A facet of her faith, she adored the Christmas season, both for its biblical and cultural significance. As her family knows, she adored “A Christmas Story” (1983), and faithfully watched TBS’ 24 hour marathon of the movie every year.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 10am to 11am at Vogler Funeral & Cremations. A committal service will follow at 11:30am at Forsyth Memorial Park.
