He was born on November 21, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Francis J. Geiser, Sr. and Adelaide Savino Geiser. He graduated from La Salle Academy in 1952 and Manhattan College in 1956 where he studied civil engineering.
Francis proudly served his county in the United States Coast Guard. He continued to work for the government as a civilian and retired from the Federal Highway Administration where he built roads and bridges.
He was a devout catholic serving as a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Winston Salem, NC and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kathleen, GA. Francis volunteered for many years supporting his parish, Habitat for Humanity, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Shepard’s Center.
In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ellen Himpele Geiser, and son, Ray Golfetto. He leaves behind his sons, Mal Golfetto of Blodgett, OR and Francis J. (and wife Mary Lou “Terri”) Geiser, III of Warner Robins, GA; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A memorial mass will take place on Wednesday, January 10th at 10am at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
A rosary service will be held on Thursday, January 11th at 6pm at Vogler Funeral & Cremations. The family will receive friends for a visitation after the rosary until 8pm.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 12th at 10am at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church followed by burial at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Kolbe Center (pregnancy resources) in Macon, GA, or St. Patrick Catholic Church Building Fund.
