

Luther William Barham of Pfafftown, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the age of 75 years old after a long struggle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s. Luther was born on May 9, 1947 in Rockingham County, NC to Joseph Lee and Pauline Saunders Barham. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Linda Barley Barham of nearly 42 years; he will be lovingly remembered by his children and grandchildren, both biological and honorary: Mike and Susan Eldridge of Pfafftown and their children Lizzy and Luke; Steve Barham of Montgomery, Alabama; Josh and Sarah Webb of Pfafftown; Sam and Allison Barham of Germanton and their children Abbott and Laurel; Gel Jimmy of Haiti; Jennifer Aguilar and her children Luis, Mia, and Jazhiel; Victoria Rassimos and her son Mateo; countless children in the foster care system also found a home with Luther. He is also survived by a sister, Joann (Sammy) Phillips of Reidsville and a brother, Newton (Vicki) Barham of Pine Level. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Phillip Furr. His family was secondary in his life only to his love of Jesus. He was a Vietnam War Army Veteran, a retiree of Sara Lee, and an avid fly fisherman.

A celebration of Luther’s life will be held at 1:00 pm at Old Town Baptist Church in Winston-Salem on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022. The family will receive friends beginning at noon the same day. Military Rites will be presented by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
