Marie was born the second child of four children to Friedrich Karl Lissner and Maria Woehle in Niedergrund (Sudetenland-now Czech Republic). She emigrated to America with her parents in 1953 and worked at Hanes Hosiery for 32 years until her retirement.
Marie devoted her life to the care of her beloved parents.
Surviving Marie are two sisters. Hilde Pappe of Germany and Erika Reissar of Australia. Marie also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Germany and Australia.
Memorials may be made to St. Anne’s Episcopal Church of Winston-Salem, N.C.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 3 pm at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem.
