Timothy Francis Serwatka

Timothy Francis Serwatka , 71, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023 surrounded by family in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Tim was born June 7, 1952 to Anthony and Bernice (Poremba) Serwatka in Chicago, Illinois, one of five children.

Tim had a vibrant personality, and his sense of humor was infectious. He had a remarkable ability to lighten up any situation with his quick wit and a knack for telling jokes. His laughter and cheerful spirit touched the lives of those around him, leaving lasting memories.

Tim loved sports, where his favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks and was an avid collector of sports memorabilia, coins and other collectibles.

Professionally, Tim dedicated 40 years as a shipping manager for a textile company, showcasing his strong work ethic and commitment. While he found fulfillment in his career, Tim’s true joy came from his family. His three grandchildren were the center of his life. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating cherished memories and showering them with love. His family was his anchor and his love for them knew no bounds.

Tim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jeanne; daughters, Angelica Serwatka and Nina (Daniel) Westmoreland; son, Anthony (Julia) Serwatka; grandchildren, Ayden Westmoreland (8), Carter Serwatka (5), and Adalyn Westmoreland (4); and numerous nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Bernice; brothers, Thomas, Robert and David Serwatka; and sister, Christine Serwatka.

Tim will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire and bring smiles to our faces.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Vogler Funeral & Cremations at Forsyth Memorial Park. Funeral Mass for Tim will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St Leo the Great Catholic Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina . Tim will be laid to rest at Forsyth Memorial Park following the service.
