Grammy, there is no one like you. Your soul is kind, pure, loving, and compassionate with a dash of spice. There are so many memories I hold near to my heart that I will always reflect on with a smile and a laugh. You often told me that life is too short to hold onto the bad stuff, that family  and love are the most important things in this world and that it’s never too late for anything-  whether it’s a career change, starting a hobby, saying your sorry and forgiving. I know you are with God, surrounded by all your loved ones, looking down on us and being our biggest cheerleaders. I love you so much, and will miss you. Thank you for loving me. I have the most beautiful and fond memories of growing up and looking up to my cousin Anne Bratland (Tingo)! When we would go to Milwaukee, where she grew up, she would take me to her teenage bedroom and put ribbons and headbands in my hair and make me feel so grown up! I wanted to be just like her when I got older! We stayed in touch all these years and while we have seen each other in person infrequently, we have texted and written very often and stayed close in heart. Another great memory is how our Ma (what we called or grandmother from Eastern Europe), would make the most delicious Potica and give us loaves of the yummy walnut and honey flaky bread every Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving -  and sometimes in between, if we were lucky! Ma has been gone from us for a long time, but I always made sure for many years now that a loaf of Potica went on its way to my cousin Anne and her family, it's tradition! Your beautiful creative and expressive spirit will be missed Anne! I know you are with the other Bratlands and Medveds in heaven for a great reunion!

I once said to you, not too long ago, Mom, I am so glad that God chose me to be your daughter and you said no, I am so grateful  that God had faith in me to choose me to be your mother. Those words will forever be with me. Thank you for your love, support guidance and such a strong sense of faith throughout the years that you have instilled in  me. I could go on and on and on, but you already know!!
