Deborah Kay Ostheimer Nees, formerly of Basye, VA, died May 13, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.
Mrs. Nees was born July 11, 1947 in Sharon, PA to Richard Ostheimer and Janet Hoagland Ostheimer.
Deborah was married to David A. Nees on December 31, 1981.
Mrs. Nees is survived by four children, Jennifer Sullivan of Winter Park, FL, J. Christian Erickson of Ft. Myers, FL, Matthew Erickson of Windermere, FL, and Amanda Floyd of Winchester, VA. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Kerry, Daniel, Cassandra, Xavier and Trevor; four brothers, Richard Ostheimer of Youngstown, OH, James Ostheimer of Richmond, VA, Jeffrey Ostheimer of Winter Garden, FL, and Mark Ostheimer of Sharon, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Nees.
Mrs. Nees attended Sharon High School in Sharon, PA, as well as Roanoke College, Lynchburg College and Catawba College. Mrs. Nees retired as a social worker from Warren Memorial Hospital in 1995. She took up her love of painting after retiring and won various medals and ribbons for her artwork.
Mrs. Nees enjoyed working around the house, painting and spending time with her family and friends. She lived her life to the fullest and truly enjoyed every moment she was with family and friends.
Memorial services will be held May 24, 2018 at 6 p.m. at Presbyterian Church of the Lakes, 4700 Lincoln Avenue, Orlando, FL and May 26, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 312 Orkney Grade, Basye, VA. Final interment will be held immediately following the service in Basye.
