Florence “Mamo” Torrez was born on October 27, 1928 in Skidmore Texas to the parents of Marcos Hernandez and Guadalupe Hernandez. Florence grew up in Taft Texas and that is where she met her beloved husband John G. Torrez Jr. (Who has preceded her in death) shortly after getting married they moved to Croswell Michigan where they had 8 children. They shared 41 years of marriage.
Florence was a loving and devoted Mother and Wife. Family was very important to her; she loved every one of them dearly. Florence loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed bowling with her great-grandchildren, playing dominoes, picnics, dancing and was known to be an excellent cook. She captured the attention of those she met and had a great affection for people. She treated everyone life family.
Florence “Mamo” loved life and loved Jehovah. It was her love for Jehovah that moved her to be baptized as one of Jehovah witnesses on February 9, 1991. Her passion was the door to door ministry that she enjoyed sharing with the congregation.
Florence will truly be missed by all those who loved her. We look forward to the day when Jehovah God will do away with our enemy death and when the earth will be transformed into a paradise and reunite us with our loved ones.
