She moved to Saint Petersburg, Florida with her parents and sister Elaine (Churchvale) Boerum (deceased). She graduated from Saint Petersburg High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. Janice worked 30 years for CNA Insurance company where she was a Surety Underwriter and later retired.
She married John Robert Byers in 1954 and they had three children. She is survived by her sons John Louis Byers and Michael Scott Byers. Her daughter Susan Leslie Byers passed away in 2003. She has three grandchildren Gregg Louis Byers, Wayne Guthrie Byers, and Jill Leona Byers. And six great grandchildren Alyssa Byers, Michael Byers, Jason Byers, Joshua Byers, Leann Byers, and Joslyn Byers. Janice loved spending time with her family and canine companion Daisy Mae. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
