John graduated from Millikan High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach.
On June 16, 1979, he married the love of his life, Jan Ryther. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and music.
John had a distinguished career as a musician with Walt Disney World. He performed played in many different orchestras. He was a proud member of Musicians Local 389. Music was not only his profession but his lifelong passion, and he shared that gift generously with those around him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jan Ryther; his children, John Michael, Pamela, and Jessica; his sisters, Jeannee Schumpf and Darlene Braz; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Svea Ryther, and sister Jackie Futch.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 28, 2026, at Radiant Life Assembly of God 8151 Clarcona Ocoee Road, Orlando, Florida 32818.
