Kenneth 'Scott' Spilman peacefully passed away on 8/31/15. His Father, Kenneth A. Spilman, preceded him in death on 7/6/15. He is survived by his mother, Marie-Louise Doherty Spilman, his sisters, Shelagh Spilman Long (Danny N. Long), Stacy Spilman Pontius (Ken Pontius), his brotherly cousin, William S. Sands, Jr. (William T. Beecham), many cousins and special friends.
Scott was born on 7/23/58, growing up in Newton and Wellesley, MA. He spent many years in the Boston area before making his way to Central Florida to express and build on his passions for art, movie making, theatre, music, cooking and landscaping, while working in the hospitality business. Incredibly talented, he was an artist by the age of 3, a puppeteer by 7, a musician by 10 and an entertainer always.
He had his own fashion style - unique eyeglasses, always a tipped hat, vests, suspenders, bow ties, bandanas and the coolest of shoes. A dry sense of humor and an appreciation for a quick wit. Loved by family and friends, he gave of himself in his special way. If Scott spent time in your life, he left a place in your heart forever.
Scott's family is grateful for the warm and loving thoughts being shared by so many friends and extended family. The care he received at UF Health Cancer Center, Cornerstone Hospice and the Mike Conley Hospice House was above and beyond the very best. We will always be thankful.
