three children. She attended and graduated from Elgin High School, in Elgin, IL, in 1955. After
school she worked as a switchboard operator in Chicago, IL, while attending Jr. College. She
later worked in administrative and banking positions. She met the love of her life, the late
James B. Fitzgerald, in 1961. They married on May 5, 1962, and shared 52 years of happy
marriage, until his death in 2014.
They moved to Florida in 1977 and they lived in Central and the West Coast of Florida.
Sheila will be greatly missed by her daughter, Ann Baker (her husband Bill), granddaughters,
Leigh-Ann Gallegos (her husband Richard, their daughter Hannah), Allison Staub (her husband
Tyler, their children Anna-Grace, Emalyn, and Liam), along with remaining family and friends.
Sheila is survived by her two siblings, sister Beryl Taylor, and brother, Glenn Hoisington (wife
Deloris).
Shelia’s smile and positive, loving nature will live with us forever. A funeral service will take
place on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 1:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church located at
384 South Orange Blossom Trail, Apopka, FL.
