

Betty Reighard died from complications of a 2-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, January, 14, 2014. She was a retired business owner. Betty was born in Phil Campbell, Alabama on April 28, 1930 to George and Helen Kilgoar.
Betty was married to William Reighard in 1947 and resided in Pennsylvania until 1964 when they moved to Ocala, Florida. They became owners of a business which they operated for 25 years. They moved to Winter Haven, Florida in 1990. William died in 1998.
Betty was a member of the Eastern Star, Theatre Guild of Winter Haven, Bouquet Garden Club of Winter Haven and attended Calvary Baptist. Betty organized a breakfast club for her neighborhood. Betty was very active with her Garden Club serving as grounds chairperson for many years. She was a member of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and the Winter Haven Council of Garden Clubs. She was honored with the Penny Pines Award which plants pine trees in her honor.
Her hobbies included gardening, volunteering with her garden club, traveling and spending time with her friends. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Deborah Futch and her son-in-law Stephen Futch; her grandson William Futch and his wife Allison and their child, Kate; and her grandson David Futch.
The visitation will be Thursday evening 5-7 PM at Ott Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven with a graveside service at Rolling Hills Cemetery at 1PM on Friday.
