

Buck graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1951. He was on the football team, Letterman’s Club, class treasurer, went to Boy’s State, was art editor of the yearbook, and voted “Best All Around”.
After graduation he joined the Navy and served 4 years, most of which was on a submarine in Japan. After his honorable discharge he worked with Firestone, Goodyear, and Bradford Oil Co. In 1974 he opened Haven Engraving and Awards. His artistic talents were at work and he embraced his community for 41 years. Buck loved to dance and was a member of Sunshine Swingers Square Dance Club. He also enjoyed fishing and shotgun sports. He was a member of First Christian Church.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Kelly Renee Coolidge. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharron Griner Owens; son, Mike (Tonia); daughter, Stephanie (Joe); four grandchildren, Cameron, Blake, Kyle, and Bella; one great granddaughter, Mackenzie; and a sister Mona Weeks.
Services will be provided by Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven on Sunday, August 21. Visitation will be at 2 pm with a service following at 3 pm. A reception will follow after the service at Ott-Laughlin. There will be no graveside service. The family would like to express their gratitude to Savannah Court in Bartow and to Cornerstone Hospice for the excellent care he was given as well as the support to the family. Memorial donations may be made to either of them if you so wish.
