Gerald “Hoss” Murphy, 59, of Winter Haven, passed away at home on April 28, 2014 due to heart failure. He graduated from Winter Haven High School and attended Polk Vocational School. He was a master mechanic for Polk County Fleet Services and a member of Southside Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, hunting, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis L. Murphy, a brother, Alton Murphy, and a nephew, Roger Lee Murphy. He is survived by his mother, Bettye Murphy, a sister Kathy Murphy, two brothers, Randy and Roger (Cathy) Murphy, 5 nieces, two nephews, eight great nieces, six great nephews, and one great-great niece.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 2nd, from 6 to 8 pm at Ott-Laughlin in Winter Haven. A service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, at 10 am at Southside Baptist Church in Winter Haven
