No se cómo expresarme, cómo decirle tantas cosas que se vienen a mi mente, pero sobre todo, a mi corazón. 
Recuerdo cada vez, q le llevaba un collarcito,  una pulsera, siempre me decía, ay mijita, pero ud x qué no pone un almacén, pero lo que recuerdo más es la felicidad q me demostraba, igualmente cuando le llevaba galletitas o dulces, y me decía, hmm mijita Ud si sabe lo que a mi me gusta.  Esos  momentos  siempre quedarán en mi mente, memoria y corazón.  Como también recuerdo cuando me consolaba por la ausencia de mi princesa, y luego de mis papas. Tanto amor   y cariño con mis hijitos, cuando mi princesa está hospitalizada, son muchos recuerdos hermosos, llenos de felicidad, porque siempre tenía una sonrisa para todos, un abrazo, un beso y siempre queriendo lo mejor para todos.

Abuelita, 
With a broken heart, I sign this memorial. How does one capture in a few words a lifetime of special memories with such a beautiful fun loving person. My entire life has been filled with unconditional love from you. You made all my memories sparkle. Your fun demeanor was weaved through everything we did together. From dressing me up for halloween with costumes you sewed from scratch, to getting your license, to planting cilantro or as we jokingly called marijuana. For as long as I can remember you took me to travel with you and grandpa. Sorry I got lost that time in Disney. Even when you were going through trials and tribulations, you put me first. Although you had a tanda of granchildren, you made me feel like we had the most special bond of all. We all feel the same, how did you manage that? Your love extended to my husband and children. Thank you for being a special grandmother to them as well. I pray one day I can be half the abuelita you were. 
I don’t know how I will ever fill this void I feel today. I pray to God (in spanish as you taught me) that memories of your creativity, fashion sense, practical jokes, infectious laugh and love of everything in life can take some of this pain away. You will always be my beautiful special person.

Abuelota Necho was a resilient empowered woman who instilled the ideals and values that my beautiful family holds dear today. Throughout my whole life I know she was always a moments notice away. So eager to live life to the fullest, to give, to share and to just make others smile. She was as progressive as they can be, I remember being a very young child and my Abuelita Necho already being more tech savvy than me or my mother were at the time. She and her viejito have formed a strong and everlasting legacy with the family that they helped build. I know my father wouldn’t be half the man he was today without her, and I couldn’t ask for a better upbringing. I love you abuelita. 

I’ve loved you like a second grandma! I’ll never forget all our laughs and good times! You are already so missed and that will never change. You are with the Lord in heaven now, please rest and rejoice! 


Abuelita, you have taught us all how to love your family endlessly no matter the circumstances. We may not have been able to communicate easily but the look you had in your eyes when we were together, I could feel all of the love and I loved you just as much back. Everyone will remember you as a beautiful, diligent, silly, and affectionate woman which is exactly who you were. You have touched countless lives and will be missed. Te amo por siempre y siempre reina.

As someone who is 5’8, thanks for always making me feel so tall ;) As soon as my sisters & I walked in a room, your eyes would light up in amazement as if we were giants. You’d always greet us with a hug, a kiss, & offer us something to eat. You’ve instilled countless life values that have been passed on for generations. Always keeping focus on family that included countless of sacrifices that we could never repay you for. When I think of the motto “work hard, play harder” I can’t help but think about you. No matter the age or time you continued to live life to the fullest. You were either out at Disney helping the family get priority in the lines with your wheelchair or you were up late night dancing & laughing the night away. Abuelita, either with the language barrier thanks for still always showing us love in so many other ways.

My favorite memory of Abuelita is when she was showing my mom and I her puzzles on her computer. As she’s showing us she tells us Abuelito always will say this is going to take you forever. Then she goes watch this & press the button the solve button. She then calls Abueilto into the room to show him that she finished the puzzle. He was so proud and she was just laughing ❤️

Abuelita, thank you for creating so many joyful memories. However, there is one memory that outshines the others for me. I remember that no matter what was going on in the world or in our lives, you’ve always made sure to look your best. The makeup, jewelry and clothes that you put on everyday were a display of  the positive outlook you had in life.  Thank you for the positive impact you pored into my life.

Abuelita, unos de mis recuerdos favoritos es de cuando yo era un niño chiquito y vino a cuidarnos por una semana. En esa semana, nos trataste como los reyes del mundo. Nos llevas caminando hasta McDonalds para comprar un Happy Meal y jugar en el playroom de McDonalds, y luego en la casa nos ayudaste con meter a la computadora para poder jugar juegos todo lo que queríamos. Siempre estabas ahí para nosotros cuando te necesitamos, desde que nací hasta el último minuto. En pas descanses Abuelita, te queremos mucho, por ahora y siempre.


My words can not do justice to describe my mother.  A woman with transcending love and ability to touch so many.  She was my mother, but she was the grandmother not only to her grandchildren but to their friends.  Her actions speaks volume.  Giving, sacrificing, placing herself before others and always arduously defining what it means to be a mother.  She made certain that she was not only present, but ensuring that when she was taking care of her grandchildren, she used every opportunity to teach them life-long lessons.  Thank you mom for your companionship and devotion towards me and my family.  You adored my Jairito, but you lived for your grandchildren including my children, always making sure that they were ok.  You and my viejo picked them up from school and took care of them ensuring not only that they were fed, but lovingly watching them until our arrival from work.  Mom, as I told you frequently, my kids are successful adults thanks  to you and Dad.  They were the disciples of an inspirational teacher, my first love.  The woman who cradle me in her arms and gazed into my eyes when I was born. I know that when I look to the heavens you’ll be the light that brightens my darkest days.  You’ll be the star that will continue to illuminate my path as I try to find comfort in living a life with you and Dad as my guardian angels. May you Rest In Peace my beautiful viejita, the queen of my heart, the core of of our family.

Abuelita/Tita necho,
We love you so much.  I will always have beautiful memories of you and abuelito.  We were blessed to have you take care of us.  You and abuelito would pick us up from school every day and have a second lunch ready for us.   Sometimes you would even drive and purposely floor the gas because you knew we would scream in the back of the car from terror.  When I would visit you I would tell you these stories and you would laugh.  I was trying to help you remember.  Like the time you crashed the car and you told me not to tell anyone.  Well of course that was the first thing I blurted out.  You thought that story was hilarious.  When you were well you would tell that story all the time.  You were the best abuelita and tita necho.  You loved your family dearly.   You were the best example of what a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother should be.  I hope I can be just fraction of what you were.  We love you so much.

From making sure I’d make it safely from the crosswalk into Elementary school to showing me the secrets of the greatest television show on earth, the Price is Right. Grandma was hilarious, smart, and a good person. She taught us all how to live life to the fullest, and how a bad day can be turned right around with a bowl of sopita, dancing, and laughing. She will be missed for having the ability to light up a room and I hope to live half the life she did, because I know she had a great time.

Te quiero mucha abuelita. I will miss you.

So many memories, how can I pick just one? I’ve thought about this a lot. And of course I have to share the one that you remembered for so long. When Gego would mow the lawn on the ride on mower and I would be riding on the back, here you come yelling at him for putting me on there but running to go get the camera. When Gego was still alive, you would tell that story and look at him with eyes that said “really?! How could you!” He would look back and be like, “well, who recorded it?!” When he passed you would tell that story and the part where Gego would say you recorded it, you would start saying it for him and crack up. Now you’re gone and now I have to tell that story. 

Mi bella Abuelita. She never let us forget where our family came from. Colombia was her homeland and we were lucky enough to be enriched with Colombian heritage and customs. However, my grandmother was immensely grateful to the opportunities bestowed upon her by the United States. She left a cushy job in Colombia and came to the US and worked as a seamstress and in a factory…doing whatever she needed to do to support her family in the new land. My grandparents both sponsored several families to come here and generously offered their home until they got onto their feet. 70 people approximately. This speaks to my grandmother’s spirit, always a fixer, always so generous, always a hostess. Her heart shone bright from the outside. But her greatest joy was her family. My grandmother loved us with every ounce of her being. I miss her hugs, our long talks, her sopita, un jugito, sharing a cabin with her on the cruise and laughing as my poor grandfather praying I wasn’t going to roll off on top of them in the middle of the night. She lived every day to the fullest. A day around my grandmother was filled with laughter, dancing, stories, love and something delicious she whipped up effortlessly. I find solace knowing she is in heaven with her mind back and reunited with the love of her life, my sweetest Abuelito. I will always carry her spirit with me in my heart. Te quiero con todo mi alma, Abuelita. 


Mami aunque que ya no estás físicamente, tu espíritu siempre estará con nosotros.  Me vas hacer mucha falta, pero se que ya estás libre de sufrimiento.  Doy gracias que pudiste pasar tus últimos días en mi casa y rodeada de la familia. Me queda el recuerdo que aunque estabas tan débil el lunes pasado llamaste mi nombre y me abrazaste.   Los últimos 7 años que estuviste viviendo conmigo  fueron tan llenos de alegría a pesar de que estábamos las 2 cuidando a mi papi.  Sin tu ayuda hubiera sido muy difícil.  Gracias Mami por todos tus sacrificios por todos nosotros.  A pesar de que te dimos sufrimientos nunca nos diste la espalda. Gracias por no dejar que olvidáramos nuestra cultura Colombiana y el español. Te prometo que seguiremos haciendo las novenas en Diciembre, los sancochos, las empanadas etc etc. El viernes nos reuniremos para darte un adiós luego vamos a mi casa para comer el arroz con pollo que tu me enseñaste hacer.  Descansa en paz y mándeme los números del lotto . Tu niña que tanto te quiere Martica 

La abulita mas linda de el mundo te vamos a siempre tener te en nuestro corazon. Que Dios es contigo en Heaven. Tu eres un angel abulita linda 👼

We lost a very special person dear to all our 💙 hearts a women so special fill with lot's of love for all of us my Abulita a women whom was to me like a second mom a great wife a wonderful grandma words can not express how dear loving,🙏 caring she was like no other it breaks my heart to know she is gone but I know she is in a better place with God in heaven at peace where her soul can rest. What she instill in all of us was God first,morals, Values and most important the key to everything Love. We all were bless in this family to have a women touch so many in our family with the gift of Love. I will miss her yet we all can know that from up above shine's the biggest Angel of all my Abulita and second mom Ines Gonzalez R.I.P know we all love you as a big family and you will never ever be forgotten.🙏

I was left with so many fond memories of her, it’s really hard to pick just one. She was the strongest woman I have ever known and honored that this woman happened to be my grandmother. Abuelita was always full of life, dancing, listening to music, and the best hostess. She couldn’t see you without a drink or with no plate of food in hand and if she asked if you wanted something, whether you said yes or no, you better believe you were being served something. She literally was a ray of sunshine as she opened all the windows and curtains in the house to bring in as much sunlight as possible. She was also a healer and had the best home remedies for when we were sick. They were like magic! She told the best stories with the same giggles at the same exact portion of the story / every single time! She told her jokes in Spanish (which I never understood) but I’m sure they were very funny so I joined her in her laughter. She was our protector who provided a home to me as a child and then later to my family and I as an adult. She loved unconditionally, never holding your faults over your head. As she approached her end of life, she became frail, but still managed to fight until the very end. Her strength will never be forgotten. When she left us, my mind was flooded with memories and I immediately began to mourn the abuelita I always knew. That’s the abuelita she wants me to remember. I promise to emulate her. I will assure that my grandkids are loved as she loved me. I have no doubt that at the gates of heaven, abuelito was waiting for you and probably asking what took you so long! My forever Angel. I love you.
