Jonell Ann Boucher Broom

Winter Haven – Jo Broom, age 72, passed away Thursday morning (9-23-2010) with family at her bedside. She loved her family dearly and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Jo was born in Punxsutawney, PA March 23, 1938 and moved to central Florida with her family as a young woman. While working as a phone operator she met and married Junior Broom. Together they settled in Winter Haven to raise their family. Jo owned and ran her own daycare for many years, enjoyed attending church and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Parkland Baptist Church for over 40 years.

Jo was preceded in death by her mother Frances Mariah Boucher, father William Ward Boucher and her husband, of 53 years, Junior Broom. She is survived by her only son William “Randy” Broom of Winter Haven, daughter Lynn Peterson and her husband Steven of Tallahassee, FL, and granddaughters Stephanie and Amy Peterson.

Visitation is Sunday from 2 till 4 pm at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven. Funeral Services are Monday, September 27, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Parkland Baptist Church. Burial to follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery.
