Winter Haven – Joseph Carl Price, Jr.,88, of Winter Haven, FL, left this earthly life, entering into Heaven on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Winter Haven Hospital.
Joe was born in Rocky Mount, NC on August 5, 1929. The family moved to Wilmington, NC, where Joe graduated high school. He attended Western Carolina University at Cullowhee,NC. Before his Junior year, he enlisted in the US Army.
After military service, he began a career with State Farm Insurance in Virginia, moving to Orlando, FL and to the Winter Haven offices as Auto Claims Superintendent, retiring in 1993.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Nan, celebrating their 44 years on Thursday, July 20. Son, Scott Price of Stuart, Dan Haygood (Lu Ann), Kevin (Farren), Drew, Linza (Korey). David Haygood (Julie), Thomas (Amanda and great-grandaughter, Hopelyn), Jonathan, Sarah Ashley, and Caroline Grace.
Many blessings have come from Joe’s coaching young men in Little League sports, from his walk with Christ in church related activities, and working with young people at Calvary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 2101 Overlook Drive, Winter Haven, FL at 10 am, with the Memorial Service beginning at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be sent to Calvary Baptist Church or the Florida Baptist Children’s Home, 1015 Sikes Blvd, Lakeland, FL 33815
