Mariana de Jesus Ramos was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on February 23rd, 1927. She was the second to youngest daughter of Rosa Ortiz and Domingo de Jesus. She is survived by her 7 children (Carmen Olga, Juan David, Jorge Luis, Jose Raul, William, Elizabeth, and Jose Luis), her 24 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, and 27 great-great grandchildren.
Mariana moved to the state of New York in 1961. Here she worked solely and tirelessly for all her children. She was an amazing mother and father, who many times sacrificed food for herself to be able to send money to her children for their wellbeing. Her children remember her as an incredibly hard-working woman.
Between 1968 and 1969, Mariana moved to Cleveland, Ohio. While in Cleveland, she always had her doors open for all those that needed her help and more so for her children as they one by one moved to the United States from the island of Puerto Rico. Mariana would later move to Florida between 1986-1987 and her final 13 years were spent living with her youngest daughter Elizabeth Vasquez.
Mariana was very dedicated to the church, and it was in the house of God that she became a part of drama and choir. Being a soprano, her voice is remembered to be similar as that of Argentine singer and actress Libertad Lamarque.
Her greatest love was her large extended family and her two Chihuahuas: Escari and Bullet. Whom some would say she treated better than if they were her own children. She is remembered for her teasing and amusing sense of humor, for always having candy in her purse and for being such a kind and dependable woman. She will be greatly missed.
