

She was born on November 1st, 1933 in St. Petersburg, FL. She married Eugene “Bob” Faneuf and they moved to Lake Wales, FL. In 1960, she and Bob started an insurance agency in Lake Wales that is currently on it’s third generation. Bob and Shirley moved to Winter Haven, FL in their later years so Bob could semi-retire and Shirley worked at the agency a couple of days each week until two months ago.
Shirley had two sons. Her oldest son is John Faneuf who is married to Susan and lives in Lake Wales, FL. Her youngest son was Matt Faneuf who is married to wife Kim and lives in Auburndale, FL. She also had four grandchildren: Delaney Hilliard, Kyle Faneuf, Carolyn Berry, and Morgan Faneuf and three great granddaughters: Katie, Hadley, and Ally.
Shirley was an active member at the Orange Street Church of Christ. She counted the members of the congregation as family as well.
Shirley wrote poetry and was even published in a Christian’s woman magazine twice. She was working on a group of poems about lessons she learned from her animal friends. She wrote her last couple of poems just a few weeks before she died. She also enjoyed playing piano and guitar.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday May 17th, 2016 from 6p.m to 7 p.m. with a service following at 7p.m., both will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Florida School of Preaching. www.fsop.net
