

Shirley Skipper of Winter Haven, Florida, went to the Lord peacefully at 9:57 p.m. 23 June 2023 at the Good Shepherd Hospice, Auburndale, Florida surrounded by her family. She succumbed to kidney disease and heart failure.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid bowler, member of the Indian River Princess Thunderbirds, Tidewater, Virginia 600 and 650 Club, participated in the WIBC Championship Tournament in Tampa, Florida 1990, WIBC Mixed League Champion ABC 1997-98, was a member of the Thursday Night Mixed Bowler at Cypress Lanes in Winter Haven, Florida for 6 years until present. She was very competitive in everything she loved doing. She loved going to the different Disney parks and collecting the Disney pins, her refrigerator was covered in Disney annual passes and loved playing any type of card games. She collected lighthouses. She loved her cats and usually had 3 at a time. They meant the world to her, and they could do no wrong. She was an avid pistol and rifle marksman, a coach at Eagle Lake Christian School/Assembly of God Church, a Royal Ranger leader, member of the choir and soloist, two of her favorite songs were “Mary Did You Know” and “I’ll Rise Again”, an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, loved camping. She also worked at the Walmart Super Center in Winter Haven, Florid, worked in the women’s department and answered the phone until her health forced her to retire.
She was preceded by her father Pat Nordyke (1928-1988), brother Kenneth Nelson Nordyke (1951-2018), sister Linda June Rogel (1959-2011), step grandson John Clifton Skipper (2012-2018)
Survived by her husband of 27 years Randall Jerome Skipper, mother Darlene Cunnane (Dorcas Anne Howdeshell) both of Winter Haven FL.; brother Roger Wayne Nordyke, sister-in-law Tae Sun Chang of Lakewood, WA.; sister Susan Marie Perez of Tampa, FL.; brothers-in-law Nathan Ledon Skipper of Auburndale, FL. and Fairlon Joel Skipper of Lake Alfred, FL.; sister-in-laws Paula Ruth Lovett and Gay Elizabeth Walker both of Eagle Lake, FL.; daughter Denise Michelle Lyman of Fort Meyers, FL.; grandsons Randall Patrick Welte and his wife Brittnee Welte of Lakeland, FL., Joseph “Joey” Lee Welte of California, Austin Lee Derr, Kaleb Andrew Gregory both of Winter Haven, FL. and Christian Keens of Fort Meyers, FL,; stepdaughters Amy Montesa Simpson of Hoover, AL. and Amber Lee Brady of Winter Haven, FL.; stepson Jaron Clifton Skipper Ocala, FL.; step-grandsons Gauge Tanner Ives of Mobile, AL., Gunner Atlee Simpson, Garon Axel Simpson both of Hoover, AL.; step-granddaughters Lakin Montesa Ives Auburn University, AL., Emma Grace Skipper of Winter Haven, FL., Kaylor Lee Brady of Winter Haven, FL.; step-great grandson Jack James Truden of Lakeland, FL.; step-great granddaughter Remy Isabelle Truden of Lakeland,; and many nieces and nephews.
Royal Rangers are requested to be in uniform.
