Willa Jo Bennett, age 89, of Winter Haven, Florida entered into rest on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Willa was born April 30, 1932 in Jackson County, North Carolina, the daughter of James and Virginia Watson.
Willa spent time working as a waitress, department store clerk, then eventually as a school bus driver in Polk County for 33 years. She attended Yellow Mountain Baptist Church, Inwood Baptist Church, and Spirit Lake Baptist Church.
Willa is survived by her children, William A. Bennett, Jr. (Rhonda), James E. Bennett, Sr. (Loretta), and Kenneth A. Bennett (Kathy); one brother, Odell Watson; nephew, Marty Watson; as well as 11 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends for Willa will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven, Florida, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Willa will be laid to rest in Evitt Cemetery, Cashiers, North Carolina.
