Winter Haven- Mr. Willie F. Roberts, age 85, of Winter Haven, FL died Thursday, May 24, 2012. He was born September 14, 1926 in Ashburn, Georgia the son of Emory F. Roberts and Rachael Speight Roberts. He served in the US Army during WWII where he served as an engine rebuild mechanic. He joined the National Guard, retiring in 1970 after 20 years service with the rank of Sgt.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 8 and a member of the Lake Shipp Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his sister Leona Rachael Buxton. He is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Beulah (Bratton) Roberts, sons: Stephen Jeffrey Roberts (Minnie) and William F. Roberts (Shirley), daughter: Susan Dale Roberts, brothers: James Emory Roberts (Merl) and Kenneth Reece Roberts (Sally), three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Memorial Services are Friday, June 1, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Lake Shipp Baptist Church.
