Elena V Puig

Elena Valladares Puig passed away peacefully on April 2, 2016 at the age of 91, at her home in Orlando, Florida. Elena was born December 21, 1924 in Havana, Cuba, the youngest daughter of Geronimo Valladares and Mariana Perez. In 1961, Elena, her husband Vicente Danilo Puig, and their five children left their beloved country for Miami. Elena always held on tightly to her Cuban roots. She celebrated her love of Cuban cuisine by cooking many outstanding Cuban dishes in her own unique and delicious manner. The sound of her beloved Cuban music could often be heard playing in her home, and it will always be a reminder of Elena’s loving and passionate spirit. Elena was a dedicated and loving mother who will be missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Elena is survived by her daughter, Dr. Elena Puig, sons Danilo, Luis, Eduardo, and Alberto, as well as 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
