Our son, brother, husband and father is gone. Born on September 5 1964 in Montgomery Alabama while his father served as a flight surgeon, raised in Orlando Florida where he chose to stay for the rest of his life, Harry Stone died unexpectedly on July 2 2018.
Harry was the middle child and only son of Dr Harry Stone and Rose Evelyn Cioffi Stone. He is survived by his daughter Anastasia Stone and wife Olena Babayan Stone, 3 siblings, 2 nieces and 3 nephews, 3 brothers in law, father Harry Sr. and step mother Susan.
Harry had endless charm and a joyful outgoing personality. He was many things to many people, and above all, upon his daughter’s birth, he became the most dedicated loving father, who wanted nothing but to see the expression of satisfaction and joy upon Ana’s beautiful face. As a husband he was loving, protective and supportive. Harry was also a kind son, brother and brother-in-law, who never wanted to put anyone out of his or her way to accommodate him. He had endless heart and loved his family above all else in life.
A student of history so much like his father, Harry was a modern day Renaissance man. He had an unquenchable curiosity, was a voracious reader, and loved sports. If you spent an evening with Harry you would be sure to talk about the impact of recent of geopolitical events on the markets, and then switch to discussing why the Florida offence will not stack up against Georgia this coming weekend. The conversation would certainly include sharp, well-timed satire as thick as molasses, followed by a joyful devious laugh. If he was coming to dinner, Harry would invariably run late, and upon his entrance with a half empty one-liter bottle of 7-11 spring water, would announce he just came from the gym, and would then join the family dinner, making his signature “sam-ich” (short for sandwich).
As a child Harry loved sailing during family vacations and more recently dreamed of owning a sailboat of his own. As he sets out on this final journey, we only hope that there is salt wind in his hair and sun on his face.
Harry Chase Stone II will be deeply missed by us all. Contributions to honor his memory may be made to Doctors without Borders, an organization he deeply admired. A private family service was held in memory of Harry.
