It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Howard E. Ortelt Jr. on the evening of June 5, 2024, at his home. He was 78 years old. Howard was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Emmaline and Howard Ortelt Sr. in April 1946.
After twenty years of dedicated service in the United States Air Force, Howard retired to Orlando, Florida in 1984. He had a passion for sail boating, snorkeling, and photography.
Howard is survived by his wife, Deborah Ortelt, her children Phillip and Matthew Thurlow of Massachusetts, Amy Thurlow of Ohio, Dustin Sanderski and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Bryce Thurlow. Howard is also survived by his own children, William Ortelt and Krista Ortelt-Pendleton of Florida, and one grandson, Brian Terrell of Florida.
Services will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Winter Park, Florida on Sunday, June 23rd at 12:00 PM.
