

John Cory McQuaig (Johnny Mac), born Jacksonville, Florida, July 12,1970; and passed away August 7, 2015. He is survived by his loving family; his wife of 22 years, Molly McQuaig, his son Ian McQuaig, his daughter Marlene McQuaig, his step-father Charles Miller, his father James McQuaig, and his sister Sarah (Nathan) Boye. He is also survived by his nieces Vala Boye, Anya Boye, and Kira Boye, his brother Adam McQuaig; his aunts Sandy (Charles Barth) Engert of Winter Park and Di (Tom) Crichlow of North Carolina. He is known for being responsible, trustworthy, forgiving, fun, honest, kind, caring, compassionate, brave, adventurous and accepting man, not to mention a loyal and loving son, husband and father of two wonderful kids. He was a caring and compassionate Fire Fighter/ EMT for 25 years. His career span three agencies: Pahokee Fire Rescue, Altamonte Springs Fire Department and Seminole County. Some of his accomplishments were Smith Systems Trainer, EVOC Trainer and certified SCBA repair person along with helping his fellow firefighters through disturbing times due to rough calls. He was also a care giver for his mother who went before him. Friends are invited to attend John's Memorial Service, Friday August 21, 2015 at 11:00am at the Willow Creek Church, 4725 East Lake Drive, Winter Springs, Florida 32708, with Chaplain Chris Whaley officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of John.
