On Tuesday October 10, 2023, Margaret E. Holmes of Bethesda, MD. Daughter of the late Melvin A. and Mary E. Raney; sister of the late Roberta Raney Adams; aunt of Suzanne Checefsky, Jacqueline Egli, Katherine Adams and the late John Raney Adams.
Margaret was affectionately known by her nieces as Margie. Opinionated with a strong sense of self, hardworking, kind hearted, and independent best describes Margaret. She loved horses, music, movies, and cars. Margie treasured the history and roots of her family. Margie was very involved in the research of family genealogy, continuing the task after her mother, Mary, and her Aunt Ruth. In her early years she rode horses, played piano, learned to fly an airplane, and traveled. Margie was knowledgeable on many, many topics and truly loved a good debate or lengthy discussion about current events.
Interment will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park, FL on November 2, 2023.
