Mary Nell McNeal

Mary Nell McNeal was married two wonderful men during her lifetime, James Henry Pless who died Dec 12, 1958, and Herbert P. McNeal who passed in 2007. Mary Nell preceded in death by Jeremiah H and Ethel Coker Arnsdorff, and daughter Mary Margaret Davidson.

Nell had a long happy life. She was born in Rincon Georgia and grew up in Miami Florida. After graduating from high school during 1941, she moved to Washington D.C. to work for the FDIC, and then to work for the same company in Chicago where she met Rev. James Henry Pless and married him in Evanston Illinois. They had four children together. Rev Pless passed away Dec 12, 1958.

She married Herbert P. McNeal on Aug 18, 1971. Herbert and Nell enjoyed a wonderful life in retirement in Winter Park until Herbert passed on Sep.2, 2007.

Survivors: Daughters Kathleen Batchelor and husband Ralph of Mineola, TX, and Jean Pless of Ward, Colorado, son David Pless of Malibu, Ca., five grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Nell has three sisters Annie Oglesby of Rincon, Ga., Stella Seckinger of Rincon, Ga., and Bobbie Bookhoop of Savannah, Ga. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to be made to the First Baptist Church Winter Park would be appreciated.

Funeral: Visitation will begin at 10 am and the funeral service will begin at 11 am on Sat. March 10 at Carey Hand Cox-Parker Funeral Home in Winter Park, FL. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Herbert P. McNeal, in Palm Cemetery. www.carey-handcox.com
