Patricia M. Devine “Pat” went peacefully to our Lord December 23, 2019 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Dr. Joseph Devine and her parents John and Juanita Murray. She is survived by her children Daniel (Jacqueline), Kathleen (Peter), Eileen (Wade), Mary, Tom (Christine) and eleven beloved grandchildren: Kathleen (Joshua),Madeline Marie (Westin), Joseph, Matthew, Mary Elizabeth, Jacob, Ethan, Evan, Garrett, Dylan and Madeline Eileen.
In her high school yearbook, Pat was described as “always helping the other fellow”. She proved this to be an accurate description by spending her life dedicated to her family and community. From serving as Vice President of the Loyola University student body, holding a position on the Orange County Zoning commission, co-founding the Central Florida Helpline and the countless organizations she gave her time to, Morning Star School being one that was very close to her heart. She always looked up and around to see where there was need. Pat was also an original environmentalist dedicated to preserving area lakes. In the last chapter of her already full life, she lost her vision. In true Pat Devine style, she attended classes at Lighthouse Central Florida to learn new life skills and left a board member! Pat, along with her husband Joe, traveled the world, never stopped learning and had a priceless gift of surrounding herself with really great people. Her many friends were faithful to her until the end of her life and she was truly grateful for this.
A mass will be held on Jan. 11, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Charles Catholic Church, 4001 Edgewater Dr, 32804 with a celebration of her life immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pat can be made to Morning Star School, 930 Leigh Ave, 32804 or Lighthouse Central Florida, 215 E New Hampshire St., 32804
