I worked for Ralph Dixon from early 1973 until his retirement from City of Orlando. He was a person we can all go to for advise as if we were part of his family. To Ernestine, Jeff and Tina Iam sorry for your lost I only wished I had found out earlier of his passing

I'm so sorry to hear just today of Ralph's passing and am sorry to have missed his service.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.  

I worked for Mr. Dixon in Data Processing at the City for the 7 years prior to his retirement.  I had such respect for him as a boss and as a person.  You knew where you stood with Mr. Dixon:-)  His faith and love for his family shone through at work.

Dear Aunt Ernestine, Jeff, Tina and families...my heart and prayers remain with you. I will hold tight to the memories of our many Cracker Barrel lunches and photo ops under our Cracker Barrel tree! (Aunt Ernestine will explain) Uncle Ralph always showed care and concern for all of my family.  I will keep those memories forever.I send Big Hugs until I can see you all again. May God keep you close!

Ernestine, Jeff, Tina & Families-- I was so sad to hear that Ralph passed away.  He truly was a wonderful man! I hold so many great memories of you all in my heart!!  Those days... many years ago... are still some of the best times of my life.  I love you all and will be thinking of you in your time of sorrow.  Love Always!

Ernestine, Jeff, Tina and families. I was truly sorry to hear of Mr. Dixon's passing. I have fond memories of him for the many years that we were members at Killarney. I take great joy in knowing that he is in a better place. I just wanted you to know that we are praying for each of you.

Ernestine and family.  How it saddened us to read of Ralph's passing.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

I always enjoyed visiting with Ralph when he walked by while I was mowing the lawn at our former home in Palm Terrace.  He was always happy to visit.  I know Ralph had some vision problems but he would always recognize my voice from a distance.  

Ralph was my brother Bob's first boss at the City when Bob was hired to run the City's print shop.  Bob thought very highly of Ralph as I do. 

Anne and I feel bad for you and your family, but we know Ralph is in a better place.  May God ease your pain.

Mr. Dixon was one of the most honest men I ever met - true to God, true to his family whom he loved unconditionally, and true to his job.  He walked the walk.  He touched my life in so many ways and I will always remember that if Ralph said so, it was so.  Any chance that presented itself for Ralph to help someone, he did without fanfare - I truly respect and love the life he presented to this world and know that his crown is filled with many, many jewels.  Godspeed Ernestine, Jeff, Tina and families.

Ernestine, I love you. I will remember the talks that Ralph and I had when I came to pick up the key to Palm Terrace to take the kindergarten for the Thanksgiving feasts and egg hunts.  I will hold him in my heart and pray for your consolation that Jesus has promised to those of us who mourn.  Viki

Dear Dixon Family,

So very sorry to learn of the passing of Mr. Ralph Dixon.

I was the IBM representative to the City
of Orlando for a number of years.  Ralph and I became very good friends.

I thought the following poem might be helpful to the Dixon family at this time.


To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

We pray you find comfort in knowing where he is now, with our Savior in Heaven, awaiting you to join him someday. In the meantime, he & Paul Brown & all his other friends are waiting on the next Fl./Ky. game, so they can rib each other again !!
