Rolf was born in Crailsheim, Germany on February 7, 1940. He was married to the love of his life Veronika K. Schoolman for 55 years Rolf M. Schoolman was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army and retired as a Command Sergeant Major who served for 29 years.
The U.S. Army recognized Rolf for his honorable service with a Purple Heart, specifically for his heroic action at the Battle of Xa Cam My (Operation Abilene) During his time in the Army he also received the Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, several Meritorious Service Medals and the Army Achievement Medal. Once Rolf retired from the Army he continued a career at the Navy Exchange for 20 years.
Rolf was preceded in death by his wife, Veronika and his daughter Gerda. He's survived by his daughter Karin (Leonardo) Lopez as well as four grandchildren Stephanie Schoolman, Hans Lopez, Lex Lopez, Leonardo Lopez Jr. and a great-granddaughter Kendra Schoolman. His family has organized a memorial service to honor Rolf’s life and military service, which will be held at the Glen Haven Memorial in Winter Park on June 14, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.
