William “Bill” Howard Ascough, age 80, lived in Winter Park, Florida. He passed on the morning of May 4, 2016 at Winter Park Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 4, 1936 in Huntington, West Virginia to Wilson and Louise Ascough. He married Anita Mann on October 14, 1957. He served in the United States Air Force for 22 years. During his service he received numerous awards and certifications. He retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his military service, he worked for Columbia Machine for almost 30 years. Bill is survived by his mother Louise, his wife of 59 years Anita, his brother Len and his wife Judy, his son Erik and his family Barb, Ashley and Brian and his son Dale and his family Cyndi, Olivia and Hannah, as well as beloved nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Bill was a devoted husband and father who spent significant time on youth sports, scouts and family activities. He started family traditions that will serve as lifelong reminders. Crispy dogs, Mr. Grinch’s workshop, the purple moose and Mouse tag will be forever in our memories. His family could not have asked for better. To us, he is a Hero!
