

His first job was with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, this job turned into a lifetime career, taking his family to all corners of Saskatchewan before his retirement to Regina.
Dan’s interests included fishing, when stationed in the north, playing crib and watching his favorite teams play football, baseball and hockey, but his passion was playing the accordion, starting at a very young age and lasting his entire life until his health prevented him from continuing.
Dan was predeceased by his dad Sanford on Nov. 9, 1990; his mom Marjorie on Feb 9, 2012 and his sister Doreen’s partner Leo on June 19, 2023.
He is survived by his children: Jim (Simone), Dave, Brenda and Shelly (Cliff); the mother of his children Maria Petrie; grandchildren: Zack, Jessi, Julie, Sarah and Angie; siblings Bob (Barbara), Doreen, Donna (Ken).
A graveside service will be held in Broadview Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 with Monica Dayman officiating. The pallbearers will be Ken Pitre, Donna Pitre, Nathan Pitre, Hudson Pitre, Shelley Likness and Allan Schmidt.
The family would like to thank the staff at Broadview Centennial Lodge for their care and kindness in the past 2 years that Dan called the lodge home. Also thanks to the Moosomin Integrated Care Centre for their exceptional care in Dan’s final days.
