

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother, Eleanor Lucy (Lukaszewski) Sydorko on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at the age 88 years in the Montmartre Health Centre surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Eleanor was born near Fillmore, Saskatchewan and spent most of her life in the Mutrie and Montmartre area, devoting her time as a farmers wife and mother. She left behind a legacy of love to her family and a lifetime of strength. She loved gardening, cooking, baking, raising chickens, sewing, playing cards and entertaining family and friends.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Jerry Sydorko (2007); grandson Nolan; parents Ignace and Josephine Lukaszewski; in-laws Mike and Mary Sydorko; sister Agnes; brothers-in-law: Philip, Eugene, Walter, Tony, Delmar, Ray, Julian and Jim and sisters-in-law Katie and Mary Ann.
She is lovingly remembered by her 7 children: Richard (Helen), Betty Ann (Brian), Joan (Don), Bonnie (Roger), Roger, Brenda (Gus) and Joyce (Darren); 12 grandchildren: Bobbie Jo (Serge), Wade (Staci), Nevin (Sara), Connor (Kayla), Jay (Chantel), Carter, Justin (Loni), Jordan (Allysa), Miranda, Alysha, Dylan and Jacob (Kally); 9 great-grandchildren; sisters: Jean Coulter, Betty Paslawski and Sophie Gall; brother Ted (Jo Anne); sisters-in-law Mary Ripplinger and Stella Malowany, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Montmartre, Saskatchewan on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Francis (Prince) Kurisinkal. The interment will take place in St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Montmartre, Saskatchewan.
