

Elmer was born north of Grenfell to Frederick and Mathilda (Krieger) Steininger and was the fourth of five children. He dedicated his life to family, working many hours on the family farm. He and his wife Adelle were avid fans of local sports, attending every game they could.
Elmer leaves to remember his wife Adelle of 62 years; his children: Kim (Valerie), Troy (Corinne), Tracey (Mike) and Dawn (Garnet); his grandchildren: Stephen (Ameena), Shane (David), Brittany (Kendrick), Shaylin (Darren), Brianne (Rob), Mathew (Alysha), Ashley, Jordan (Ben), Emily (Andrew), Kendal and Tyler (Amanda); great-grandchildren: Nel, Lexie, Simon, Brynlee, Lucas, Aiden, Kaydence and Halle; his sisters: Norma, Marge and Gloria (Ron); brother-in-law Richard and many nieces and nephews.
Elmer was predeceased by his sister Delores; brothers-in-law: Lloyd, Lawrence and Bill and sister-in-law Arlene.

A celebration of life for Elmer will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Legacy Inn, Grenfell, Saskatchewan. A private family interment took place in Grenfell Cemetery.
