

Ethel Elma Box (nee Hextall) was born on July 4, 1932 at the Hextall family farm called “the Manor”, south of Grenfell, Sask. She passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at her farm which was called “Glengarry Farm”.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband Milton Box; parents Thomas Hextall and Charlotte “Elma” Tapp; brother Lorne Hextall; 11 sisters-in-law and 15 brothers in-law.
She is survived by her 3 sons: Ken (Donna), Lyle (Diane) and Lloyd (Ruth); 7 grandchildren: Bryan (Camille), Ian (Kerrie), Ashley (Carson), Nicolle (Karol), Michelle (Thomas), Monica (Adam) and Rick (Makoto); 11 great-grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law Merle Laut and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ethel was an active member of the community, always helping others. She was very involved with the Grenfell Legion and Anglican Church, she volunteered many hours at the Tourist Booth, the Genealogy Society, and the Grenfell Museum. She was also a faithful fan of the Grenfell Spitfires hockey team, sitting behind the opposition bench. She spent many happy years at the family cabin at Crooked Lake.
A funeral service will be held at a later date.
