Florence Giroux entered into her place of eternal rest August 21, 2025. Her sudden passing is deeply felt by her loving husband Henri Giroux, who treasures the life they shared for 49 years of marriage.
Florence’s memory will be forever cherished by her three children and eight grandchildren who were the joy and pride of her life: Robert and Mandy Giroux (Lovekenda, Loukenson, Lizzie), Mark & Chelsea Giroux (Rylen, Rhys, Garrett) and Irene & Micheal Berns (Sienna, Thomas).
Born on April 24, 1953, Florence was the second of six children to Thomas and Laure (Vertefeuille) Beaulieu. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Leo (Linda) Beaulieu, Roger (Pauline) Beaulieu, and Paul (Sharon) Beaulieu as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Laure, brothers Remi and baby Joseph, and grandson baby Benjamin.
Florence’s life was a testament to faith, service, and love. She lived each day with a generosity of spirit that touched everyone she met. Known for her empathy and kindness, she always had time for others.
As a devoted farm wife, she embraced both the challenges and joys of rural life after studying at the University of Regina and working as a Laboratory Technician in Regina for a short time. She opened her heart and home as a foster parent and her commitment to community shone through in countless ways – supporting local initiatives, leading summer programs for children in the park and showing up whenever a handywoman was needed. She worked a contract position for Statistics Canada in northern Canada and enjoyed learning about peoples’ diverse ways of living. She was an enthusiastic Cadet Instructor Cadet Officer with the Army Cadet program for over twenty-five years leading and supporting youth; even working two summers in Whitehorse, Yukon.
Her faith was central to her life. She served her church devotedly as a dedicated member of the Catholic Women’s League, a helper on various parish committees, and as a joyful member of the choir.
She will be remembered for her smile, her laughter and her unwavering belief in kindness. She devoted her life to others and through her compassion and selflessness she showed us what it meant to live a life of service and love. May her light continue to guide us always.
The funeral mass was celebrated in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Montmartre, Saskatchewan on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Francis (Prince) Kurisinkal. Interment of cremated remains followed in Sacred Heart R.C. Parish Cemetery.
