Gerald George

Gerald was raised by his grandparents Alex and Clara George. He grew up on Ochapowace First Nation, Broadview and Whitewood. He completed his grade 12 in Calgary, Alberta and lived between Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta for ten years. In 1997 he moved back home to Ochapowace First Nation. He was a freelance artist, a collector of antiques (coins, ornaments and colored glass), enjoyed painting, playing cards, games and brain teasers.

Gerald is survived by his children: Candace (Brandon), Gerald Jr, Lindsay, Gary Redwood (Ashley); grandchildren; brothers: Robert George (Karen), Darryl George (Diane), Tim George, Alex George (Vhenus) and Les (Martina) George and sisters Jolene George and Risa Downs.

He was predeceased by his parents Mabel Irene George and Ronald George; grandparents Alex and Clara George, Robert Shavetail and Georgina Kequahtooway; brothers: Darcy George, Wes George, Owen George and Randy George and sister Kelly Lila George.

A wake will be held in the Elders Lodge, Ochapowace First Nation on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. The funeral service take place in the same location on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. The interment will take place in the Ochapowace First Nation Cemetery.
