John Anton Boehmer of Indian Head, SK died on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at the age of 79 years. Due to covid 19 restrictions, a private family graveside service will be held in the All Saints Anglican Cemetery at Katepwa, SK.
John was born on February 23, 1941 in Duval, Saskatchewan. He married Eldeen (nee McGirr) in St. Lucia in 1999. He was a proud father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing snowmobiles, camping and quadding. He was a welder by trade and was proud that he had every ticket given and never failed one. He was a member of the Elks Club and was a councillor of the District of Katepwa for 21 years. He enjoyed many happy hours at his cottage at Katepwa South and loved it when family and friends would visit at the cottage and talk about the good old days and stay for a barbeque supper. He also loved to travel, play cards, watch birds and took in the fascination and peace that Mother Nature so openly provided.
John was predeceased by his parents Mary and Bill Boehmer; sisters Isabel Wingert and Evelyn Osborne; daughter Deana-Lee and granddaughter Brandy-Lee. He is survived by his loving wife Eldeen; son Shawn (Sheila) Boehmer; daughter Fawn (Scott) Cheston; stepson Scott (Sheila) Maddocks; stepdaughter Karen Ulmer; grandchildren Kyle (Twyla), Riccie-Lee, Stephanie (Scott), Randall, Amanda (Dan) and Emmett (Becky); great grandchildren Roy, Emma, Patience, Carson and a little princess due in September; sister Dianne (John) Becker; brothers-in-law Ken Wingert and Harold Osborne (Julie); mother-in-law Marjorie McGirr; sisters-in-law Judith (Dan) Kesslar and Verda (Morley) Longley and many nieces and nephews.
