Joseph Conrad Sangwais

He leaves to mourn his wife Rhonda; children: Savannah (Brian), Hayden (Kesslin), Kimberly (Zach), Geoff, Sarah, Sheldon (Jen) and Carrie (Devin), seven grandchildren. Conrad is also survived by his sisters Laryssa and Leaha; brothers: Rick, Curtis, Colin, Carl, Drew and Eddie; many cousins, aunties, uncles and special auntie Biola from Tuscon, Arizona.

Conrad was predeceased by his parents George and Bernadette Sangwais; his sisters: Francis, Vanessa and Corrine; brothers: Clarence, Calvin, Mike and Clayton; son Trev and son-in-law Warren.

Conrad resided on the Ochapowace First Nation. He loved playing with his grandchildren or just rocking in his rocking chair while watching videos or movies. He worked at the Painted Hand Casino for 12 years. He enjoyed listening to music, which was a favorite past time during his stay in the hospital. He watched movies with his wife, had visits with Hayden and Reeco, which was a routine he looked forward to daily, as well as visiting with numerous friends and family.

Conrad had two kidney transplants, the first one was from his mom and the second one was from his sister Vanessa. He struggled through life with renal failure. He was a fighter and fought to the very end. He enjoyed life and was proud of his fatherhood to three children: Savannah, Hayden and Kimberly and father of five: Geoff, Trev (Rip), Sarah, Sheldon and Carrie. He was grandfather to 7, grandfather to 34 and many great-grandchildren.

We love and will miss you ALWAYS.

A wake was held in Chief Denton George Memorial Multiplex, Ochapowace First Nation on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. A feast, followed by the funeral service officiated by Knowledge Keeper Terry Flamont, took place in Chief Denton George Memorial Multiplex on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. The pallbearers were Hayden Sangwais, Geoff Pelletier, Sheldon Welsh, Randy Sangwais, Cameron Sangwais and Howard Sangwais.

Family requests that no one under the influence of drugs or alcohol attend the wake or service please.
