Born December 1, 1935 in Neudorf, SK, Mardel was the youngest of ten children.
She was predeceased by her parents Martin and Katherine Ulmer, father and mother-in-law Henry and Mary Schmidt, six of her siblings Verner Ulmer, Emma Hollinger, Rose Piller, John Ulmer, Edward Ulmer, and Violet Schmidt, and her son Earl.
Mardel is survived by her husband Elroy of nearly 62 years, siblings Oswald Ulmer (Betty), Grace Ulmer, and Gladys James (Keith), sister-in-law Elaine Ulmer, sons Tim (Sherry) and Jeff (Lisa), grandchildren Tracy (Tyler), Kristen, Shakara, Danielle (Trevor), Karli (Eric), Brooklyn, Josh and Mara, and great-grandchildren Karver, Asher and Ranger.
Mardel spent the majority of years raising her family in Grenfell. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, volunteering, singing and being involved with the church.
A celebration of Mardel's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in Trinity Presbyterian Church in Grenfell, SK officiated by Rev. Isaac Lee. Interment to follow at Grenfell Cemetery.
