Margurite Jessie Ward

It is with great sorrow in parting that we announce the passing of Margurite Jessie Ward on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the age of 95 years – and while comforted, knowing she was loved by her family beyond measure.

Margurite is reunited in heaven with her husband Edgar; her sisters: Ellen (Ted), Ethel (Alvin), Agnes, Elroise (Mike) and Florence (Henry); brothers: Ken (Margie), Jim (Annagail), John (Lorna) and her sisters-in-law Eva and Marg.

Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her beautiful life are her children: daughter Bernice (Rick) and their children Shaun (Kym) and Rhonda (Jon); son John (Cheryl) and their children Christopher and Travis (Laura); son Roy (Joanne) and their children Brennan and Katelyn. Also left to grieve but remember her amazing spirit are her beloved great-grandchildren; her brothers George and Don; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as extended family members and many friends.

Margurite’s family will always remember her fierce independence and many gifts, including her beautiful needlepoint and knitted projects. More than most, Margurite absolutely loved a good game, particularly Bingo, or an exciting game of Yahtzee – which she enjoyed doing with her family for so many years. She especially enjoyed watching sports, specifically her support of the Toronto Blue Jays, which were a highlight for her.

A celebration of life will take place in the Grenfell Legion Hall, 713 Stella St., Grenfell, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow in the Grenfell Cemetery, where she will take her final rest next to her beloved Edgar.
