

Mary-Anne is survived by her loving husband John James Kaye and her loving children: Gwen (Curtis), Lloyd and Crystal; her special grandson Kyren; sisters and brothers: Josephine (Larry), Patricia Letandre, Harriette Kaushik, Leona Jimmy (Charles), Esther Wright (Travis), Burton Jimmy (Annette), Gilbert Jimmy (Beatrice), Gabriel Chatsis and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mary-Anne was predeceased by her son Barry; parents Vital and Catherine Jimmy; father-in-law Percy Kaye; mother-in-law Mary-Jane Kequahtooway and brothers and sister: George Jimmy (Sadie), Wallace Jimmy (Bridget) and Bernice Thunderchild (Quincy).
Mary-Anne was born in Thunderchild First Nation. Once leaving Thunderchild, Mary Anne pursued her goal of becoming a nurse. She graduated from Wascana Institute in 1982 with her license of practical nursing. Mary-Anne was passionate about her career and worked for numerous hospitals in Regina and retired successfully. She was compassionate, nurturing, kind and gentle with a great sense of humor. We are thankful that until the end, we could still talk, laugh and joke about life, family, the things we did and the things we hope to do. We will miss you Mom.
The wake was held in the Sakimay Complex, Sakimay First Nation on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. The funeral service was held in the Sakimay Complex on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Band Elders officiating. Interment followed in the Sakimay R.C. Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Burton Jimmy, Marcie Jimmy, Tom Thunderchild, Tyler Ryder, Kyren Kaye and Nathaniel Kaye.
