With great sadness our beloved Henry Max Prettyshield has made his journey to the spirit world on November 25, 2022. Max was surrounded by his family on the day he made his journey.
He was predeceased by his parents Edward Prettyshield and Estella O’Watch; siblings: Victoria, Joyce, Theresa, Barbara, Jerry, Raymond and Victor and his son Lovey.
Max is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wilma Prettyshield and their children Maxine and Gonzalo (Arnelda); brother Carl (Hilda); sisters Marie and Gladys Prettyshield; sisters-in-law: Bessie, Winnie, Liza, Squeaky and Emily; brother-in-law Patrick Comeslast; grandchildren: Natasha (Robbie), Chantal, Gonzalo (Jocelyn), Desirae, Breeze, Lucas, Montana, Santana, Marita, Rosalita and Zakiah and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The wake was held in the Ceg-A-Kin Community Hall, Ceg-A-Kin Nakota Nation on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. The funeral service was held in the Ceg-A-Kin Community Hall on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Clyde O’Watch and Pastor Allan Walker officiating. Interment followed in the South Cemetery.
The pallbearers are Gonzalo Jr. Ryder, Breeze Ryder, Kelly Delorme, Ian Prettyshield, Montana Hotomani and Santana Hotomani.
Honorary pallbearers are Barrett Prettyshield, Derek Prettyshield, Gerald Ryder, Chris Ryder, Shane Thompson, Howard Ryder, Merk O’Watch and Floyd Whitecap.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at the Indian Head Hospital for Max’s care.
