It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, husband, grandpa brother, and best friend on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Pasqua Hospital. “Copey” gave so much of himself and asked for so little in return. He has gifted us with so many incredible memories.
Ray began his life’s journey in Broadview, on April 23, 1941, to parents Edmund and Gladys Cope. He was the big brother to sisters Marlene (Reeve) and Joy (Reiger). He fulfilled this duty with just the right amount of teasing, humour and love. He was an amazing dad and his hard work and determination made him an excellent role model for his daughters Jeannette (Kuculym) and Colleen (Peterson). He met Flossie, the love of his life and through their many adventures down south, music festivals and camping, created friendship and memories, and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He was a mentor and friend to his sons-in-law Les and Paul, welcoming them into the family with open arms. Ray was also a very proud grandpa to Brooke, Jaden, David and Morgan, who thought the world of him. In their words he was strong and determined, selfless and warm hearted, but most of all amazing! The admiration they hold will live forever in their hearts.
His sister Marlene, and brother-in-law Donny, as well as his parents will be welcoming him on his next journey.
The family would like to extend the utmost gratitude and respect to the 3B Oncology Unit, Cancer Clinic, doctors and nurses for the compassionate and attentive care to Ray and his family through this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Ray’s name may be made to Friends of 3B, Pasqua Hospital Oncology, 4101 Dewdney Avenue Regina, SK S4T 1A5 or Broadview Lions Club, Box 537 Broadview, SK S0G 0K0.
